Taking advantage of our ‘build to print kit’ service our defence client had a requirement for a two metre diameter stainless steel welded fabrication which is to be sited in a coastal location at height.
The guard which is constructed out of stainless steel (316) posed some manufacturing challenges however our team were able to tweak the design during the manufacturing process adding improvements such as stiffening ribs for more rigidity.
Because of the complex nature of the large fabrication, we undertook site visits at a number of stages including piece part production, initial tack welding and final inspection of the fully welded assembly prior to paint and finish, in order to deliver a ‘right first time’ product.
In addition we designed and constructed a bespoke transport case to ship the guard, delivering this project in eight weeks.
